Boat skips get used to transfer aggregates and other loose materials by cranes. The materials get loaded into the skips, then taken to the required destination. Once there, a mechanism allows the boat skip to tip the materials out when the crane lifts it.
Bost skips are useful for both taking materials away from site and filling areas in. For example, when the ground is dug out and lorries can’t access the area to take the muck away, boat skips can move the materials to a place where lorries can be loaded.
Similarly, they can take materials to where ground needs to be built up.
